Spike Lee having Rosie Perez dancing to Public Enemy's song "Fight The Power" in opening scene of the film "Do The Right Thing" was perfect, also the dancing at the end and music bits slipped throughout "Zatoichi: The Blind Swordsman" suprised me.
"Kung Fu Hustle" also was clever with the dancing it put inside it.
Do you know of any films that put music or dancing into a film that was not a musical that really worked for you ?
What are films that used music and dancing in an unexpected delightful way?
Footloose was great - I really loved the credits at the beginning where they had all those legs with different shoes and crazy socks and stuff tapping and dancing to the music.
Reply:i thought the part in "shaun of the dead" when theyre beating up the zombie with pool cues to Queen was pretty awesome.
Reply:My Best Friend's Wedding.
In the resteraunt where they all sing that Dionne Warwick song and everybody joins in. And when they're in that karoake club and Cameron Diaz has to sing and she sounds terrible but belts out the whole song.
The soundtrack is one of my faves too.
